Sadi Ga Sadi
Sadi Ga Sadi is a visual documentation of the sari across all Indian states. A full-length book that weaves together textile heritage with contemporary visual storytelling. Sarbat’s creative direction spanned cover photography, layout design, illustrations, and overall art direction, with the intent of building a cohesive visual language that balances information with emotion.
Illustrations, spread throughout the book, are designed to be the storytelling thread each page with illustrations in bright red and yellow propels the reader forward, adding dynamic energy and emotion to the narrative. In between, traditional text-image layouts provide the space for detailed information, ensuring the book remains both informative and immersive.
Art direction of the cover captures the essence of the sari as the singular focus. The photograph abstracts motion and detail removing distraction, and letting the drape, texture, and flow of the sadi take center stage. The result is a visual identity that feels both archival and alive anchored in research, yet unapologetically expressive.
